![]() Text-to-Speech Voices Installer downloads the voices from Microsoft directly so you don't have to worry about the source of the downloads. In case its presence is not detected, the application prompts you to download it. The Microsoft Server Speech Platform Runtime must be installed for the voices to work. All the other ones are available for download and can be installed without a lot of hassle. The language packs that are already detected on the host system are grayed out, including those pre-installed with Windows (the popular Hazel, David, and Zira for English). We recommend using our SAPI voices on systems with at least a 1GHz processor and 256MB RAM. Download size and disk space usage are around 100MB-200MB. All voices are 48kHz (unit selection) and 24kHz (CereWave) for excellent clarity and naturalness. There is also a volume adjustment button for you to hear the sample voices better when listening. They appear in the Windows Text-to-Speech Control Panel. It displays them all in a structured table, along with the speaker's voice, the file size, and a button for playing a sample.
